Carian Trail (Marmaris - Bozburun)

The Bozburun peninsula is named after this enchanting and quiet seaside town where any visitor likes to come back over and over. Bozburun means “bare point” , so as its name suggests, it is very poor in terms of greenery compared to the surrounding villages. But it is this “bareness” that gives the place its special aura. The Bozburun peninsula is situated in the south west corner of Turkey, its wild and rugged beauty are a refreshing alternative to mass tourism of Marmaris. This sparsely populated peninsula is home to less than twenty thousand inhabitants.The small town of Bozburun is the administrative centre of the region and is famous for traditional boat building. Bozburun is the place where big wooden pleasure boats called “gullets” are built.
